Today's blog is short and sweet, and relates to the hubpages I write (see sidebar.) With all the updates recently, there's been a lot going on in Runescape. And with so many BIG changes, there's been a minor change that didn't catch a lot of notice.
As a result, most of us ignore those shortcuts. Jagex finally did something about it... with a little work, those shortcuts will forever after be easy to access!
...Yes, I did say 'a little work'. Don't panic, it's not that hard. When I first looked into it, I realized there were the 'repeaters' all over the internet; you know, the sites that just cut and paste quotes from Jagex. And there were good informational sites that offered dictionary definitions of certain aspects. But nobody had bothered yet to tie it all together into one step by step guide.
I play a lot. Obviously, since I blog about it. But I've only done one guide previously. There's no sense writing a guide that's already been written about 50 times or more all over the internet. So my one and only guide up until now has been the 'cooking Rocktails' guide. I wrote it because it was a helpful technique, very useful between cooking levels of 93 to 95, and nobody had written one.
The Hidey-Hole and Rope Rack guide came about in the same way. I couldn't find one, and it seemed like a useful idea, so I wound up writing it myself. I hope you find it useful!

It took two days, but I finished the BoE quest. Now it's back to Crafting. Been using the Festive Aura and Prismatic pendants- managed to get 96... and 97, today. And about 1/3 of the way to 98.
Makes the training cheaper, but it's still sucking away my bank at scary speeds.
Sadly the master wand sells for about 15-20m. That's when I decided just to earn the pizazz points for it.
How long did it take to get?
By the way, got 99 this morning. I kept waiting for Monique to say something about 'too much time on Runescape' ... but she was cool about it! :^)

Yeah, Monique's always had a thing for the Varrock stray, so we did it after work the day it came out. It was brief, but we both enjoyed it.
Have you done it yet? (Be sure to get all 4 implings too, they're worth 50k bonus hunting exp each.)
I have done it, and I've maxed out my dog house. Where did you put your house? (The imps do rock! :D)
We put ours by Gertrudes, because we spend so much time in Varrock. Monique runs by daily and gives him a bone. (She kills a Varrock guard for the Jack of Trades Aura, saves the bones for the dog!)
Which dog did you keep? We both kept the original Varrock stray, though I kind of liked the Dalmation. Might switch to him some day.

Monique's been focusing on her 'almost' skills. You know, the ones that are 'almost 99'. She got fletching and firemaking nearly back to back. I think she's doing wood-cutting next.
I'm still making broad bolts. Slow, but profitable.
Nice. My goals are pretty much to become a better pker on Foshizzel and publicise my Youtube Channel. (I guess the Youtube part dose not count as an RS goal.)

Do you still have your blogger page for Runescape? You should post your videos there as well, along with tricks and tips. It'll help people find you to have more links leading to your videos.
I do still have it. It's before the Eoc, so it will take some cleaning up to do. Good idea! :)
I do it a lot. Have a blogger blog just as a centralized listing of all my other sites and posts. Makes it easier for people to find, and links to my other sites.
(And it's an easy way for Mom to follow my posts... she's my most loyal fan!)

Btw, do you know any good moneymakers? I know a few, but they aren't as good as they where. I'm wondering if you know any?
I have the same problem. Plus, I've been working on my 99's for so long, I'm not sure how many of my old moneymakers are doing. But here's what I'm doing for money now (Some may require prerequisite levels and quests):
Morchella Mushrooms - Can grow these about every 4 hours, for a current profit of around 90k each time.
Chaeldar- buy unfinished broad bolts once a day for an average profit of 70k.
Mithril seeds - once a day, buy for an average 140k profit.
Red Sandstone - mine and craft once per day. Not sure of profit, because I keep mine for ages,then sell for 10 or 20 mil.
Wicked Hood- teleport to Blood altar daily and make Blood Runes. I keep mine, but can usually make about 40k gold if I sell.
Catherby-Arhein - talk to him, by 80 seaweed per day. Around 40k profit.
Lunar - Baba Yaga - 20 battlestaves daily. Then Naff's Staffs in Varrock, buy 80 battlestaves. Sell the 100 for median price, make around 80k profit daily.
I usually do all this after 7:00pm every day (that's when the update is for us).
There are plenty of other daily chores, but the rest either don't interest me, or aren't profitable enough. I know this is a pretty barebones list, but you can google the details for any that sound interesting.
Currently, I'm working on fletching, and have found a mild profit in making broad bolts.
I used to love doing Grottworms, but unfortunately, they're always crowded now.
Hope some of these suggestions help!

And you're welcome for the tips. Those are just my daily maintenance things. I haven't actually worked on making a real profit in a long time. My bank goes up or down depending on the skill I'm training. Some cost, some show a profit.
Fletching broad bolts makes money, and slow exp. After that, I'll switch to Hunting. I hope it's a fast skill and profitable, but won't research it until finished with Fletching.
I've been going for the 100m challenge... but I've been bored out of my mind the whole time. I've decided to end the series because there are no fast money makers out there. (Also I want to buy some stuff!) I'm kinda sad to end it. The video got 4 likes already.
You made a lot of progress. But I have to agree- making gold is a slow an boring process now.
So buy some stuff, have some fun, then continue towards the goal.

Saw your KBD vid- I like the KISS (keep it simple, stupid) approach. When I was military, that was often the only way to explain things.
I have my agility at the level I want it, so I'm using my Skoll boots on Woodcutting.
One down, one to go? I used Skoll boosts on Agility last year. Since then, I've been making a dedicated run for all 99's, so none of the Hati/Skoll boosts help me any more.

I'm 88 Hunting, 92 Farming, and 101 Dungeoneering, the rest are 99s. It feels really close, but I know there's still a long long way to go.

I traded my Xmas Tree Hat for a Dragon Full. The Hat might go up over time, but frankly I can't say no to something that looks so cool as the Dragon Full Helm!

Are you doing any of the Desert Tasks? Monique and I have done the easy, medium, and hard. We'll do some of the elites this weekend. But that darn Dominion tower... not even going to try until after getting all 99's.
Really, the Amulet 2 from the medium tasks is the best reward. It lets you teleport to the rug merchant at Nardah. That's going to make the desert far easier to get around in.
I haven't done any yet.
It's not as well-balanced as the other achievement tasks. The coolest part was the teleport, and that's earned from the medium tasks.
Been doing POP. Still nowhere near making any armor. But I'm getting close to a 4th ship, I think.

I saw a trolling video this morning claiming Runescape was releasing the Sailing Skill today. Jagex has said they don't intend to do a sailing skill, but they do plan to release two new skills this year.
Any guesses?

Jagex implied that one skill would be gathering resources, and the other doing something with the resource; and that it would be an additional source of income for players. I'm like you- can't think of any applicable skill they haven't already done.
Did you see all the EOC changes today? Plus Sinkholes- not sure I'm going to like that... I don't usually play well with others.
Lol. They may be re-balancing Duel Wielding and 2h weapons.
That would be nice. From what I hear, dual is underpowered and 2-handed weapons overpowered.

Yeah, it's kind of funny. She makes sure not to miss the twice-a-day sinkhole d&d. While she's fighting in cool dungeons and getting fun prizes, I'm over here putting the Big Chinchompa to sleep.
But it's great exp. Between twice-daily giant chinchompa, and the daily challenge for hunting, my hunting gets at least 150k each day.

Congrats on the 95! You're right, it's a slow process. Do you woodcut for money, or for lumber for firemaking, or do you cut vines just for speed?
I'm cutting Arctic Pine trees. They are the best xp per hour I've found so far. It's horrible money but it's very fast xp.

I was hoping to make money for farming while training hunting, but since Chinchompas tanked in value, I'm just doing barehanded Snowy Knights for speed training.

Slow? I bet a lot of people don't realize how much slower training will be. There's already a lot of people on forums wanting all sorts of custom add-ins to suit their tastes.

Right now Im keeping a kbd loot tab in my bank. My goal is 1000 kbd kills. But I might also want to get 500 cw games and 500 kbd kills on the same day. (im at 400 cw games) Once I reach my goal I will put one in my house, But I will also keep one just as a cool thing to have in my bank.

Slowly but surely... This new editing program I'm trying is really confusing, so most of my time is going to it at the moment.
New video program? Which one is it? I used to use Pinnacle for years, but they had serious problems. Then I used Cyberlink, which I liked for a long time. Until it started unsyncing my audio.
Now I use Corel VSProX5, and love it. But with all three, the interface was pretty similar.
Is it Adobe Premier? I used to hear that one was complicated.
Whichever one, I know you'll figure out and be back on the warpath soon!

I like Cyberlink. It worked great on my old computer, but when I got my current computer, for some reason my audio started drifting off-sync.

We've also been enjoying the Slayer Masks from SOF, and it's getting to be a habit to do sinkholes twice a day. The rewards are nice, even the least ones.

Boy, when you decide to focus, you really focus! 3 heads- wish you could post them side-by-side on one wall in the POH.

Nice. I'm going to make an Obby Mauler pure on 07. I'm going to use throwing knives, then I will switch to my Obby Maul, and hopefully K.O. my opponent. I was thinking of making a pk series with my Obby Mauler. Do you think I should?
It sounds like there's some potential in the idea. Maybe a video showing how you trained your pure, and then 4 or 5 videos showing his effectiveness in combat. If you get enough viewers, then keep making them!
Right now 07 pking vids are getting great views. I might make some progress videos.
Even better- a subject with proven track record. Make a few, and see what kind of reaction you get.

Well, Castle Wars Update is out - That was quick! Have you had a chance to check it out yet? I might wander over there and see what's what, but I don't play it enough to have any idea of how the changes have affected it.
I haven't tried it yet. All I've been doing is training my Obby Mauler.
I haven't tried it out, but last night Monique and I were doing our Penguin hunt, and when we teleported into Castle Wars, the graphic changes to the lobby took us by surprise. We didn't expect the outside of the game to be updated!
Looked pretty cool, the there's a glitch with the signpost outside that got Monique stuck for a few seconds. Every time she ran past it, the signpost pulled her back.

I imagine it does take a long time if you're starting from scratch. You're talking way over my head- I have a vague notion of the concept, but no idea of the specifics.

I've now discovered that it takes at least 2 and a half hours to find a fight on 07.

There are people out there. The problem is, I'm not skulling (don't want to loose obby maul), so I risk 25k gp instead. Thing is, people who are risking 10k overall, want me too risk 250k. :/ Or, It's just obby maulers out there that wont skull like me. Or.... They don't want to fight maulers.
So unless they have an overwhelming advantage, they won't fight? Do they run away when you attack them?
That's the problem, I don't want to skull because then I am risking my maul.

I edited it in parts, but all together it was about 6 hours or so.

No idea how people can fight and talk all at the same time. If I'm fighting something, it's pushing buttons, watching food and prayers, and trying not to die. There's no time to be social - I have to concentrate!

Might be worth leveling up your fishing and cooking to make you own, in the long term.
I reply to you as I fish in another tab. Lol. I'm not sure why all the prices are sky rocketing but I want to make some money off it! I'm 13 fishing atm. Once I get to 40 fishing I will cook all the food I have. Hopefully it will get me to 40 cooking so then I can fish and cook lobsters.

As long as there's variety, and the pacing keeps the viewer involved you're good. Do a rough cut, walk away, come back in an hour and watch it as if you don't know what's coming. If it keeps you interested, you should be on the right track.

I hadn't heard about it yet. I'll try to watch out. I use the standard viruscheckers/firewalls, but I also run Noscript to prevent unauthorized shenanigans. But sometimes my security scans still pick up a virus.
Hopefully they'll get it protected soon. Or maybe the already have- my computer had a massive update last night for Windows, and I noticed a lot of it had to do with security issues.
Mine did too. It woke me up at 3:00 am. :/
