Runescape Agility Shortcuts: How to Build Hidey Holes and Rope Racks Guide
And of course:
Runescape Cooking - Feel the Burn:How To Cook Rocktail Fish Without Burning: What You Do From Level 93 to 95
Been really hopping recently - Aside from playing with my new Lenovo Ideapad S10-3t Netbook Tablet Computer (my caps- I really love this little netbook!) I've been catching up on all the work (and play) that's fallen behind. You may have noticed several new Runescape blogs in the last few days.
Today's blog is short and sweet, and relates to the hubpages I write (see sidebar.) With all the updates recently, there's been a lot going on in Runescape. And with so many BIG changes, there's been a minor change that didn't catch a lot of notice.
The shortcuts update, Hidey-Holes and Rope Racks. This small, unsung update is a lot more important than you'd suspect. Sure, the Rope Racks aren't such a big deal. After all, how many of us truly use the Eagle Transport System that much? But the Hidey-Holes are a very nice change. Out of all the Runescape agility shortcuts, the crossbow-and-grapple shortcuts have been, as a class, the most useless. I mean really, who just happens to carry a crossbow and grapple around by accident? If you've got them with you, you planned for it.
As a result, most of us ignore those shortcuts. Jagex finally did something about it... with a little work, those shortcuts will forever after be easy to access!
...Yes, I did say 'a little work'. Don't panic, it's not that hard. When I first looked into it, I realized there were the 'repeaters' all over the internet; you know, the sites that just cut and paste quotes from Jagex. And there were good informational sites that offered dictionary definitions of certain aspects. But nobody had bothered yet to tie it all together into one step by step guide.
I play a lot. Obviously, since I blog about it. But I've only done one guide previously. There's no sense writing a guide that's already been written about 50 times or more all over the internet. So my one and only guide up until now has been the 'cooking Rocktails' guide. I wrote it because it was a helpful technique, very useful between cooking levels of 93 to 95, and nobody had written one.
The Hidey-Hole and Rope Rack guide came about in the same way. I couldn't find one, and it seemed like a useful idea, so I wound up writing it myself. I hope you find it useful!
Welcome to Crewman6's Runescape Adventure Log! Monique (my wife!) and I have played Runescape together since 2004. We do the quests together, hunt penguins every Tuesday night, and help each other achieve our in-game goals. We play for fun, so our skill sets are a bit here-and-there. I thought it would be fun as we reach goals, and set new ones, to post tips, tricks, and thoughts as we go.

«Oldest ‹Older 601 – 800 of 1219 Newer› Newest»I agree. I even thought about using Korasi's Sword, but haven't tried it yet. I'm not sure it's high-powered enough, and at least the vine whip poisons the dragons.
I probably won't have a chance to play until Friday, might try the sword this weekend.
I didn't know that the Vine Whip poisons your enemy.
That's the main reason I tried the whip. Not very accurate against the Frost Dragons, but I had hoped the poison would make the difference.
Last night, I had a chance to play and took Korasi's Sword. It turned out to be significantly better, so that's going to be my weapon of choice for now.
Smart.
LOL... I've never been accused of that before! :^)
No! I meant it because your now using Korasi's Sword. Sorry.
I knew you were making a sincere compliment... I've just got a twisted sense of humor.
I appreciate it, really!
Yeah, sometimes I do too.
:^)
I'm thinking of getting 85 ranged for Vanguard. Would rock crabs still be my best bet for training?
Rock crabs are a good option. I trained range on Avies- they're slower, but with the constant drops of noted adamant bars, and rune daggers, very profitable. I can usually make between 450k to 700k per hour, depending on how crowded it gets.
Also, if you've got the money, use a cannon. It'll spike your training like crazy. A lot of slayer assignments can be cannoned, so you'd be training two skills at once.
On rock crabs with the cannon I'm getting so much xp it seems scary. The only problem is I am losing a lot of money like you said. So I think I'm going to just fight rock crabs for now, but once I have up to 10m or so, cannon here I come!
Cannons are like a water hose that sprays gold directly out from your bank!
But the exp is excellent.
With the Frost Dragons, I make around 2 million an hour... and spend one million replenishing supplies!! ...It's still a good deal to me :^)
Wow, That's a good amount of money!
Nice analogy btw.
Lol... thanks :^)
Yes, it's still the fastest profit I know how to make, even with the expenses.
What are you training for bonus xp weekend?
Several skills just to hit a specific goal, but mainly Agility.
How about you?
First I trained Prayer, then I trained Fishing... I`m still training Fishing. It kills me!
Prayer was a real drag to me; and expensive, too. I don't mind fishing so much. Rocktail when it's for me, shark when I'm just killing time and don't want to pay a lot of attention.
Good way of putting it. When I don't really want to pay much attention to what I'm doing, I just go chop some magic trees.
Woodchopping is another great skill that you can do without paying attention. That and fishing are the best two, because you don't have to spend anything to continually buy supplies for.
Most of the skills I have left to work on involve either paying attention, or gold. Going a lot slower now than it used to.
Well, good luck getting those up.
I'll need it!! Agility is slow, and Runecrafting is excruciating. Herblore and Crafting cost a fortune.
Mining isn't too bad. I should go skill now... but I hear Frost Dragons calling.
Sometimes I hear Castle Wars calling...
I don't think Castle Wars has ever liked me enough to call my name... but someday I'll drop in anyway!!
Did better than average last night with the Frost Dragons. It wasn't as crowded as usual, so I guess not as much competition for the dragons.
Lol. That's nice that the frost dragons were quiet.
Right now I've been doing a lot of mining, I'm not sure why.
Mining is good. It's a useful skill, makes money, and you can let your attention wander some.
I went back to Frost Dragons last night, killed 4, and lost my connection. Was worried all my stuff would be lost, but when I came back, the only thing I'd lost was my cannon. HUGE sigh of relief!
(I didn't go back at all after that.)
So you did die, yet you kept all of your armour but not your cannon?
I don't think I actually died. I'm guessing that my character survived the current dragon, then logged me out because of the broken connection. When I logged back in, I was at the door to the Frost Dragon dungeon.
How would you have lost your cannon then?
I think the cannon disappeared because I got logged out while it was still firing. But if you go back to the dwarf that sold it to you, he'll provide a new one for free. So it didn't cost any gold, I just had to go get it replaced. That's probably why I was at the entrance to the dungeon when I logged back in, too.
My big fear was that I'd be killed while I was disconnected, at which point I would have lost my gear, too.
Okay... I get it now. Thanks for explaining. :)
No problem. Runescape changes so much, I'm mistaken half the time anyway... and if I was right, all I have to do is wait a while and it changes.
Not that I'm complaining- I like some of these new changes. The Home teleport system is fabulous!
Yeah! I love it!
Monique and I are doing the Morytania tasks, too. Some of the requirements are pretty high- Like farming- Monique's 99, but I'm only 80. I hate farming, but looks like I'll have to level up a whole lot before I can finish the new tasks.
Only! 80 farming is amazing! Then 99, wow!
99? Not very likely... I'm going as high as I have to for the tasks, and stopping there!
I always thought I'd save Farming for my very last 99, which means I have years of more fun things to do first.
Lol, my farming is about 20 or so levels lower than my average level.
Farming's one of the most boring things I can think of to do in Runescape. Oddly enough, it was Monique's first 99, and she still farms just for the enjoyment of it.
I'd say "No accounting for taste", but since she married me, I'd better not follow that train of thought.
What do you think the hardest 99 is? I'm thinking runecrafting, herblore, prayer and farming.
Those are right up there. Especially if you include the 'boredom' level. But for difficulty, for me it's Summoning. The whole thing about collecting all the charms, then getting all the shards and secondary ingredients, it was difficult, expensive, and slow.
Aww, I forgot about that one!
Hey, the Behind the Scenes for this month says they're making a new way to train runecrafting! Maybe it'll be more fun. That would be really cool.
That would be awesome! :D
I hope it's something really enjoyable. It would be amazing to make Runecrafting fun. Right now, Monique and I are Temple Trekking for the Morytania Elite tasks. It's kind of fun, but the two hard ones take forever to level up.
Are you doing The Easy Medium or Hard Temple Trekking?
I'm doing strictly the two hardest characters, but which route I take varies depending on mood and time. When I can, I let Rolayne fight easy Ghasts, but otherwise I rush him and Middi though as fast as possible.
Any thoughts on speeding them up?
Are you using pots or turmoil?
Neither. I had thought about it, but really didn't want to spend the resources on them. Especially pots, they're such a pain to make.
It's a good idea. I might try it some during the weekend and see how much faster it goes. Thanks!
Your welcome, glade I could help. :)
Have you done the Easter event yet?
Yes, all three times. Now we have the 'permanent' egg-sterminator! Not sure if it was me, or Runescape, but this event just didn't seem as fun as the usual seasonal stuff. But we did it. New content is always welcome.
What did you think of it?
I've got less than an hour left to finish Temple Trekking. Everybody 99'd except for Dean. He's the easiest, so I saved him for last. Smiddi was the worst. She rarely fights, and then can't hit. Kind of like me when I was 6.
I'm with you on the Easter Event. It was okay, but not as good as the other years leading up to it.
I think my favorite of all time was last year's Easter event. The queens of Spring and Winter, and the whole valley, and great story, made it very memorable for me.
Now I've got to raise my farming. Spent the last 3 days just getting my head around it again. Just tonight began making fruit tree runs. Hope to get in full gear by tomorrow night.
If I haven't mentioned it before... I hate farming!
It's a skill where you don't need to mention anything...
:^D
I started my farming run last night. Not so bad, now that I've written out exactly what to take and where to go. Not fun, but not hating.
Hmm, for me the word farming means the word rage. 8)
I know exactly what you mean... I always planned for Farming to be my very last skill to work on.
After several days mulling over different websites, and creating a farming run that I like, I think I'll blog it soon. Just making sure to get all the kinks out first!
Smart.
Thanks- It took so much time and effort, figured I'd better make it count!
What is your farming level around anyway now?
When I started, it was 80. I either need 91, or 87 (if I use a Stranger Plant to boost).
After farming my brains out, I'm now 4k away from 86. And I think I'm going to use the Stranger Plant. No way to I want to continue at this pace! Going to stop at 87.
Wow, my farming is only in the 40's!
Well, with the help of a Stranger Plant I made the potion. Monique still has about 3 fishing levels, and we'll both be done with Morytania!
40? For Farming... That's fabulous. I would have NO farming levels if they hadn't been a requirement of some other goal!!
After saving up for a long time, I finally have it. My damaged book is now an Unholy book... I've got all four pages!
That's great! I know you've got to be happy about it. Was filling the book a goal in itself, or do you need it for something else?
I wanted the bonuses from it. But mainly it was just a fun goal.
That's very cool! So what's your next goal? Or are you just free-wheeling for a while?
I just camped Rum-Pumped Crabs over the weekend. Did pretty good. Thinking on trying the Dominion Tower tonight.
Tell me how the tower goes! :)
I thought it was fun! Of course, all I want is dreadnips, so I'm not looking to beat the tower, just as many fast fights as I can win. I'm going Endurance mode, and using Dragon Claws. When I get a fight that's going to take too long, I cash in my rewards and start again.
Still, 450 kills is going to take a while. At least it's no-risk and entertaining.
I love Runespan! I've went up 9 levels today in it!
9 Levels! That's a good feeling. I've gone up one, but I think I'll just camp there until 99... or until something else catches my fancy!!
It looks cool, it's fun, and plays well. I really like it too!
:D It's also free!
And free is extremely important!!
I might go for the berserker ring i again. I'm thinking about it...
Sounds like a good idea. It's not that it's hard to get, just tedious. Now, though, it's my lazy answer to any combat situation. Good in every stat, so unless I'm following a specific guide, when I do combat, I just grab the Berserker(i) ring.
I'd say go for it- even if you don't go all the way in one run, you'll be that much closer!
Good point. I'll go for it step by step.
Strike while the mood is right. Play a few games, just see how it feels as you go. When you've had enough, set it aside till next time. It's all progress.
I'm still obsessing on the Runespan. Made it to 98 tonight, one last big push till 99.
W0W!
That was cool that you were there. Monique was there, too. But I couldn't figure a quickchat way to introduce you. She didn't want to just speak up, because being a player mod sometimes can make her a target, and she didn't want the attention.
I'm back in the Runespan now. So close to 99 I can taste it!!!
Yeah, I thought it might have been Monique. You guys had matching Robes! :)
That's hilarious! They say when a couple's been together long enough, they grow more alike!!
You were right- she was Runespanning too.
She quit 'spanning' for a while, but she's back at it now. I'm still making fires. Hope to get 99 tonight, but if not, then tomorrow night.
Have you been working on your Berserker Ring(i) ?
I haven't been going for it yet. A lot of things have come up up, and I'm really busy. Sigh...
Man, sorry to hear that. I'm lucky/unlucky, in that much of my work is self-scheduled. If I choose, I can blow it off and play... but then I make no money. Choices, choices!
I've been good today, and gotten my work out of the way. It's boss double-drop weekend. Hope you get a chance to play.
Ooh! Yay, I'm going to kill the Nex!
One day.......
Hahaha! Me too... one day. :^D
I've spent some time killing Avies- noted adamant bars double-drops. Made a couple million.
Now, since I'm good at beating my head against a brick wall, I'm going to go see if the Barrows Brothers are kinder to me than they were last time.
Tell me how it goes!
That rock was harder than my head. They don't like me any more. Barrows Brothers used to give me all kinds of cool things.
Time to move on. I've been enjoying the Mature Grotworms. Not the best profit out there, but it's good money, easy and low-risk. Nice relaxing change of pace.
Cool, its nice to have break.
I'm still enjoying them. The drops vary highly, so one hour I'll make 500k, another hour 1.2 million, I guess it all balances out in the long run. But they're fun, and I'm in the mood for them.
Looking forward to the QBD release this weekend... even if she stomps me flat, I'm eager to try her out!
Do you now where she will be located?
Had to laugh when I read your last comment... she had already killed me by then!
But yeah, you go to the Grotworm cave, and if you're 50 agility, hang a sharp left, take the shortcut. From that entrance, hang another sharp left (southward both times), and there's a mystic door. Just walk through it.
And have fun!!! :^D
Thank you, I'll check her out soon.
I haven't defeated her yet, but unlike the Fight Kiln, I think I can beat the QBD. Going to give it a good go.
Awesome! :D
She's kicking my rear so far. Getting expensive- wish supplies were cheaper!
Are you using sara brew?
Yeah, and Dreadnips, and Steel Titan, Overloads, Extreme Anti-Fires, and whatever else I can think of. I can sometimes get to phase 3, but never any further.
Getting depressing. I've switched off for a while to rebuild some bank.
Man, that sucks. I don't know If I'm prepared for her. I've been doing a lot of fishing lately... I could kill her with raw shark!
-It's hard to type out a sarcastic voice, but I think I pulled it off.
I've always been pretty bad at any complex combat skills. It'll be interesting to see how the new system works for me- could go either way.
And yes, the sarcasm practically dripped off my monitor and all over my desk... :^)
I did get lucky on SOF, got a fish mask. Hated it until Monique pointed out that they're trade-able. (It went for 3million gold!!)
I've got one from SOF too, got it a week ago. I'm going to wait a little and see if I can turn it into the next Santa hat.
I considered it, but decided 3mil in the hand was acceptable. I hope it becomes the most expensive item in the game... then you'd be set!!
*Fingers crossed*
:^)
When you're wealthy and powerful I can tell everybody I knew you way back when!!
Lol... :)
Any luck from QBD?
No, my luck has deserted me. As has my gold. So I'm training thieving for now. When the combat changes, I hope it'll be something I fare better with.
How about you? What's your Runescaping been like recently?
I haven't been able to play a lot. I've been so busy. When I am on though, I'm usually just playing Castle Wars.
Going through a busy time at work? My boss is on vacation this week... and he gave me a whole hour per day extra to do my job AND his...
He's just lucky I like him!! :^)
I'm kind of in a holding pattern on Runescape. Do a few minutes of daily money-making running, do my Jack of Trades, and work on thieving.
I've been able to start desert treasure. I've killed Fareed and Dessous. I also made a guide on how to kill both of them without having to use any food. If you want to watch them I put the right down here.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jS0JVv3I7lc&feature=plcp
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQbCDGo04t4&feature=plcp
Sounds very cool- I'm going to watch them as soon as I've posted here. I can remember (very vaguely) having a fight in the graveyard outside of Phasmatys, and it was tougher than expected. After I finished, I had to keep bringing Monique food and dropping it on the ground so she could survive the fight!
Okay, watched them both- Wow. I had no idea you were so good with video editing. Questions... How long did each one take you? What software do you edit with? How did you get so great at designing good videos (is it part of your job?)
Just incredible. I enjoyed them a lot.
Editing program... a magician never tells their secrets, but I hate training magic and my magic level is pretty low so what the heck! Its a program called Corel Video Studio Pro. Both of them took me about 2-3 hours. (That does not include getting the footage.) It's more of a hobby than a career. I've been editing with this program for a few months now. The only thing I do not like about it is that you are not able to zoom in to a certain area. Overall though, it's a great editing program! :) It cost around $40 or so... I think.
Didn't realize Corel's Video Studio was such a good program. 20 years ago, I had a small studio and used an Amiga w/Video Toaster as an editing controller. Later, moved to Pinnacle. Now I have Cyberlink Powerdirector Pro. I liked it better on my old computer. On this one the preview window doesn't work properly.
It was really obvious you invested hard work into your videos. They were done professionally. I liked the use of titles, transitions, the fast forwards, everything worked together well to make the videos engaging and fast-paced.
They were perfect tutorials, and you should make more when you can. I bet there'll be lots of room for video guides when the new combat system get launched for real.
3 down with no food. Let's hope I can kill Kamil with no food. *fingers crossed*
Good luck - you've been blazing through them so far. Doing much better than we did- we really struggled with it!
I was looking at your videos again, and suddenly realized- you've got good tags, and I understand putting your name in the title to build a recognizable brand, but maybe you should put the words "Runescape" and "Desert Treasure" in your title. The title helps Google determine relevance to people's searches. Plus when people are cruising videos on Youtube, giving an overall frame of reference in the title can let them know if the video is applicable to their interests.
You won't hurt my feelings if you disagree, it was just a thought.
It was a smart thought. Thank you. :)
You're welcome!
I've been taking a little brake from DT. (Desert Treasure)I'm mainly just training random skills at random times.
Hi Sam! I've been off the computer for a few days- my son and his wife were visiting!
Taking a break is a good idea. I've not had much time recently for Runescape, so when I log on, I try to get my daily money run done, and my Jack of Trades. When I have time to train, it's been thieving. But it's been hard finding enough time. Hope that'll change soon.
Enjoy your 'mini-vacation' :^)
Have you seen The Dark Knight Rises? It's really good. I would recommend it.
I liked it a lot. Still haven't seen Spider-Man yet. But Dark Knight Rises was impressive.
I haven't seen the Spider-Man one yet either.
What are you going to put your 350k xp and 700k xp into?
Finally going to see Spider-Man tomorrow with my nephew. Hope we enjoy it!
Barring an unlikely change of mind, I'm going to put my exp into Dungeoneering.
How about you?
All of it in summoning for me.
Summoning makes sense. It's an expensive and time-costly skill.
I've done everything up to kamil, so I'm going to kill him tommorrow. :)
I've been wondering how it was going; did you spend some time leveling for it?
Good luck! (Don't forget to post video!)
I'm working of the video now, hope you enjoy it once it is out.
I haven't actually done a lot of combat skilling.
I'm looking forward to seeing the video!
Urgg.. So much has happened in the last month. That's why I haven't been talking with you for a while. I'm really sorry. Just so much came up all at once. The video editing program needed an update, followed by the computer crashing and not turning on again. Then some personal stuff came up. then I found out the electricity was down... So much just happened in a day. I'm so sorry , I would have loved to be talking/gaming with you. Just I was so busy. Everything is fine now though. :)
I'm glad you're okay now. Don't worry about it, stuff happens. Though I truly hate when it all piles up at once!
Hope you get some time to chill now. I always need to decompress once all the fires have been put out... :^)
:) Thanks for understanding.
Anytime. :^)
Now you've got a lot of catching up to do- Runescape's been doing a lot recently. How do you like the daily challenges?
I tried one they're kind fun. The godswords look so cool now too. I finally completed Desert Treasure. But I forgot to record it... *sigh*.
I played a game of Castle Wars with the Ancients. Wow, they are great!
I'd forgotten how powerful Ancients are until you reminded me. Congrats on getting it done. Shame about the video, but you'll have plenty of opportunity to do more.
The main thing I like about the daily challenges is the bonus exp. A few seconds making decorated fishing urns gave an exp reward of almost 50k!
Wow! That's insane.
It really is. I see on the forums people complaining about 'devaluing exp'. Guess there'll always be someone who thinks if they did it the hard way, everyone else has to as well.
The two new Al Kharid quests came out today. I know they're beginner level, but I'm still looking forward to them. Probably won't get to them til tomorrow though. Got to go shopping tonight, and have company coming.
I love the new look of Al Karid.
(think that's how you spell it)
Well, we wound up doing the first part with Ozan. The graphics were pretty cool.
Hopefully tonight we'll get the 2nd part done. It might be beginner level, but I like the story.
Cool. I'll have to try it. :)
I hope you'll enjoy it. Once you've done both quests, be sure to do the higher level after-quest rewards. It's good for 20k Agility and 20k Mining. (More if you have boosts.)
I now have the level for a fruit bat. They are great moneymakers. I have about 200 papayas in my bank now.
That's great- anything that helps make gold is a good thing!
I haven't had much time recently for serious play, but I at least try to do a little money-making each day. :^)
Did you get your Sizzling Summer bonus? (Or were you telling me you spent it on Summoning?)
Good guess. I now have 75 summoning. :) What did you use yours for?
You know me :^)
Spent it all on Dungeoneering. Got me to 97. One of these days I'll have to go back for real and get a Chaotic Rapier. But for now, I'm just putting any bonus exp on it.
Wow. 97!
I wanted to have 100 so I can bind 3 things. Now with Evolution of Combat, they're saying the old method of binding items in Dungeoneering will be history. Just my luck!
Awww. Dang!
I now have 3 parts of the frozen key. Before I can start going at the Saradomin guys, I need to get 70 agility.
Here is my killcount to get the frozen key parts so far.
Armadyl:25
Bandos:25
Zamorak:41
Always seems to be the way. I've been working on Agility recently. Not much progress. It's a slow boring skill.
How long do you think it'll take to get to 70?
I've got family over. So, it will probably take 4-7 days.
I know how that can be. When we have family over, the computer room becomes the guest room. :^)
*sigh* I think it will probably be monday before I get my agility to 70.
lol... I feel for you. Truly- I can laugh because I've been there, but I know how frustrating it can be.
On a side note- sorry I missed your "hello" yesterday. Didn't notice until you'd logged out.
Did you hear about the bonus exp weekend coming up?
Yes i did hear about it. I also FINALLY got 70 agility! :D
LOL!!!!! I got the saradomin frozen key piece on the second kill! NO joke. LOL!
Wow- that's Great! Two days before you expected it, too. You've really been working it. That's a slow skill to train.
Saradomin on your first shot? That's supposed to be the hard one!! Great luck, now you're ready to take on Nex? I hope you get a great drop.
Fingers crossed! :)
I'll make a video of me soloing the nex in full ham robes too.
Now that's a video I'd pay to see! I'll be watching for it on Youtube.
:^D
The video is up. :) Here is the link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjNH15P4g5U&feature=plcp
I'm subscribed to your channel, so I saw it on Youtube before seeing your message here. That's absolutely cool. Far cooler than what I thought of... I just did the QBD with mine.
Great idea, and very funny to watch. HAM... brilliant.
I finally got around to posting the blog and video of my QBD kills with the Deathtouched Darts.
Nothing nearly as theatrical as yours- you have a sense of drama that would be great in the entertainment industry!
If it's okay with you, I added a paragraph and included your Nex video in it as well. (If you mind, tell me and I can remove that part.)
I am happy to have my video on it. Thank you.
Thank you! It really seemed to fit, and your idea was much cooler than mine.
Remember you made more money though.
(if you decided to sell it)
Fair enough; though I'm still on the fence about selling it. I'm going to just keep it for now.
Have you done the ghosts? Monique and I did a few hunts last night and today. It was kind of fun once we figured out what to do!
The Double experience weekend was pretty cool. Only got one 99, but raised a few other things.
Did you get your prayer and firemaking up?
Firemaking is now 74 or 75 I think, maybe 73. My prayer is now 74. One level higher than I thought I was going to get to. I'm pretty pleased that I got 80 magic too. I hate Alching!!!!!!!!!
Btw, nice Herblore cape. :)Kinda insane that I have a friend with what, 7-8 99's now? Great job!
I'm glad you got several levels. Prayer's an expensive one. I hated alching too. Towards the last few Magic levels, I made House Teletabs. They were slower exp, but made a nice profit.
Thanks on the cape- I'm shooting for the 99 cape. Don't think I'll ever get the Completionist cape. Takes too much work, and it's a moving target. But someday, I hope to 99 all my levels.
You've been moving right along too. Those bonus exp weekends are always great!
Yes they are, not doubt about it.
I caught your video on youtube. Great job. You've got some skills, and not just in Runescape!
What are your thoughts on the evolution of combat?
Overall I'm looking forward to it. It's a mixed bag, though, because I've heard prayer will be majorly disabled. But I love the dual wielding. Hate hate hate losing my super-buffed excalibur healing...
There are lots of better players than me, so I'm hoping once it's gone live, there'll be a lot of guides on making the most of it. Especially regarding abilities, and how to chain them effectively.
The whole evolution of combat thing has had a curious effect on my training. While combat is my favorite part of the game, I pretty much abandoned it for the duration of EOC beta. Which means I've actually been training other skills.
At this point, I want a full bank of 99's. So much so that I'm not in a rush to get back to combat.
It works out well, because the community as a whole will have time to explore EOC, and it will probably do some maturing as content by the time I'm ready to go have some 'real' fun again!
How about you? Are you expecting good, or bad? Any thoughts or suggestions insofar as getting ready for it? I've been building my bank as much as I could, but not buying anything yet.
I'm not sure that I will like it. It sounds that the E.O.C. will be horrible for pking. That means no more Foshizzel pking. :( Other then that, I don't know. It's a mystery.
You're right, it's a total mystery right now. Could go either way, or more likely, a combination of good and bad.
As far as PK'ing goes, seems like it'll be an equal playing field. Everybody will have to work with the same gaming system. So maybe Foshizzel can ride again after all!
I hope so. :)
I've made a new video. I hope this little joke can give you a good laugh. :)
By the way, I've gone at jad twice, got to him both times, but on both times I missed the prayer switch and died. *sigh* So now, Im going to try to tank him with ganodermic armour. That is, if I ever get my defence and magic there.
It did... in sympathy. :^)
I've read about tanking Jad with Ganodermic.
Let me know how it goes. Ever since they blocked killing him with ancient prayer, I've had a very difficult time with Jad.
I defenitly will tell you how it goes. I probably won't get it before the e.o.c. comes out. So, I may need about a month to learn it.
I just finished a Castle Wars game. I found that I could choice a vanguard, trickster, or a battlemage helm! I chose battlemage because I'm really liking using magic in Castle Wars now. I'm super happy!
EOC comes out tomorrow. Finally all the speculation will be answered!
I'll be fascinated to hear how Jad with Gano works for you!!
Battlemage? Sounds like something pretty cool. How does it effect gameplay? (And how many games did you have to play to get it?)
Oh, it was only 376 games to get it!
Took a long time...
Im going to make sure I know how combat works before I'm going to go for jad again.
With e.o.c. I feel like an overpowered level 3.
376 games? Holy Castle Wars, Batman! Wow.
Perfect way to describe EOC. I did a Dungeoneering challenge, and it was like slicing through warm butter. Carnage and destruction everywhere! Lots of fun!!
I've heard that bosses are harder, but that's probably only because people are still learning the new system.
It will take time to learn eoc. So far I've found a few guides on it. I like it. What about you?
You're absolutely right. Going to take a while to learn. But in the first few days, I've very much enjoyed it.
Though it was mildly disappointing when they rebalanced it to make lots of the monsters harder again. I haven't tried it today, but saw in the forums that Dungeoneering has been made too hard now. Have to play and see. For now, I'm working up my mining.
Oh, got my 99 Dungeoneering last night. That last level was mainly thanks to Daily Challenges. (Now for the long haul!)
Wow! 99 dung... Insane! Do you have enough tickets for a chaotic weapon?
Yeah, it's insane. 99 by bonus points! No Chaotic, though. That's the only drag of exp by bonus, you get no points for weapons. So I'll still have to actually go in and play to get some cool gear.
How far are you from a rapier (longsword, maul, shield, crossbow, staff)?
I currently have about 40k, so I still need 160k points.
Not that I didn't have more, but I spent a lot on customizing my ring, then bought a few items that looked useful along the way. Now I'm wishing I'd spent those first points on a rapier...
But that's okay. I enjoy Dungeoneering, and will focus on it in more detail after I've reached some other goals.
Currently trying to get 99 Mining, I'm at 96 right now.
Wow. Nice job. When do you think you will get 99 mining?
Thanks! :^)
I'm about 300k from 97, with luck will get there tonight, maybe tomorrow. From that point, 9 more days (with luck) or maybe 2 weeks going slow.
The EOC has wildly accelerated mining training. Doing drop mining is so fast now, I've totally quit banking the ores.
How's the Castle Wars going? Do you have all the gear you wanted, or is there more to go for?
Right now I'm focusing on training my pure up. He needs 50 attack for rune now... urgg, I hate training Foshizzel up.
Sounds like a pain. I guess it's like sculpting, you have to keep chipping away at the rock until it's just right.
Doing well in Mining. Been managing about 300k per day, though I'm still not there for today's goals. If I stay on track, then tomorrow night will get me to 98.
Wow. And I though I was a machine trying to get a master wand. I need a lot more pizazz points in the alching part and telekenetic part. They sell for 15m on the G.E. :)
So are you training to get the Wand for money, or to get one for yourself? I haven't been to the Mage Training Arena in years. It was horrible! If you can get a master wand, then yes, you are training like a machine!
Got 99 Mining Saturday night (more nearly Sunday morning). 98 Friday evening, and pulled a marathon. Now I'm working on Crafting, which costs more than I can afford!
Do you have 99 now?
LOL... Crafting is going to be slow. Costs too much to just dive right through. I'm at 94 right now.
Excited about the Tzaar quest- going to try it tomorrow after grocery shopping is done. I'm pretty unskilled at fancy combat, so it's likely to take many re-tries!
Are you going to try? (Be cool to watch a video on how you beat it!)
I'll check if I have the requirements.
I have the master wand. :) I like it, so I've decided to keep it.
