Runescape: Morytania Medium Tasks

Now that Jagex finally released the Morytania tasks, Monique and I have been running through them a bit each day.  For fun, and because it just makes sense, we've started with the easy tasks, and are working our way up.  The last blog covered all the easy tasks, and they were pretty much an easy run exactly as advertised.  Next comes the Medium tasks.  Starting right off the bat, this doesn't seem very different from the easy tasks.  To begin with, we hopped a charter ship to Port Phasmatys.  This takes a couple of ecto tokens unless you've complete Ghosts Ahoy.
Then it's on the the Burgh de Rott Ramble, which is the reverse of the Temple Trekking game.  This one's pretty easy, since there's no prerequisite as to who you have to choose, or which route to take.  Just grab one of the easy companions, and zip through whichever route sounds fun.  Even if you don't play Ramble or Trekking, this one's really easy.
The next task is just as easy as the boat charter task.  Use your ectophial.  That's it.  If you've got the ectophial, this one takes barely a moment.  It was also one of those Monique and I completed by accident.  When we were headed over that way, we didn't realize the ectophial was actually a later task.  Guess we should have looked ahead and planned, but it's just more fun to take them one at a time.
The Yeast They Can Do involved buying brewing yeast from Metarialus.  He lives (bad pun) in the Green Ghost Inn, down in the cellar.  By the way, you'll need your Ghostspeak amulet.  Keep the yeast, you'll use it later (Unless you're one of those organized folk that plan everything out for maximum efficiency.  In that case, you probably came prepared for the other task involving brewing.)
For the Flamtaer task, we both had to go buy another hammer.  Ours were sacrificed years ago to the god of 'not enough bank space'.  I vaguely remember that way back then, we thought 13,000 gold was a significant expense (The cost of a Flamtaer Hammer).  Years later, 13k is about what we get from the free daily Flax that Geoffrey... er, Flax... gives out.  I like all those little freebies Runescape offers as you achieve new things.  Don't always bother with them, but it's a nice extra bonus.  Anyway, once you've got the hammer, this one's just a quick dash in and you're done.

The Fairy Rings are along the same line as the charter boat or the ectophial task.  All you have to do is teleport in from a fairy ring.  I'll even save you having to look it up... the code is ALQ.  Most likely, you've already accidentally done this one, especially if you hunt penguins weekly.

Barking up the wrong tree is another one of those where you need to keep for a later task.  Go to Canifis, click on the other side of the river, and just run around a bit.  The hollow trees are easy to find.  (No Keebler elves, though.)  Cut some bark, and bank it for later.  The next task involved using the western gate of Port Phasmatys.  Since we were already close, we just ran over that way.  I think we had to be leaving the town for it to count.  Don't remember for sure, but it seems like just running into town from the swamp didn't work.  We had to use the side gate as we were leaving to make it official.  Or maybe it just required a two-way use.

Ready? Trek! found us running through Temple Trekking once again.  This is definitely an ongoing theme.  From easy to elite, Temple Trekking (and Burg de Rott) are thoroughly woven into the Morytania task set.  In this one, we had to take a medium companion through a medium route.  Okay, still easy enough.  And only one run-through.  No big problems, yet.
Here's where it started getting my attention.  Unlock a chest in the Shade Catacombs?  Right, like I'm going to remember how to do that.  It was plain luck that I remembered how to get to the Shade Catacombs!  Wound up googling how to do it.  Found some sacred oil still in my bank after all this time, but it wasn't enough.  Turns out easy enough to just buy more from the GE.  Because of the tasks being newly released, I had to pay a lot more than the GE price.  But when we offered enough, they were quickly available.  Went through all the appropriate steps.  Killed a shade in Mort'ton, burned the remains on the west side of town, took the resulting keys to the catacombs.  No, it really wasn't hard.  Just tedious.

Back to the simple;  our next goal was to trap a swamp lizard.  In the Haunted Woods, there's a hunter icon just a little south from the Werewolf Agility Course.  Bringing a rope and a small fishing net allowed us to quickly net our quota of swamp lizard.  Had to bring an extra net... the one in out toolbelts didn't work.

For Finding Your Balance, we had to make a Guthix Balance potion completely within Morytania.  All it took was Harralander, Red Spider's Eggs, and a vial of water to make a Restore Potion.  Then we added Garlic and Silver Dust.  For this one, the GE was a great way to get all the parts.  Then just ecto in, mix the brew, and we're ready to hit the next one.

The Beer Inn-spectre is a follow-on from when we had to come down here for the easier tasks.  We did ours at the same time, but if you're coming here from scratch, you'll want to come prepared to make either Ale, or Cider.  Cider is simpler, but both are easy enough.  For Cider, just bring 16 cooking apples and 4 empty buckets.  For ale, it's 2 buckets of water, a couple of barley malts, ale yeast, and whatever main ingredient you choose.  I think we used ground chocolate, but don't really remember.  This kind of stuff is Monique's specialty, so I just followed her instructions.

Brain Bending is a somewhat creepy telegrab assignment.  Get to the Canifis tavern (Hair of the Dog) any way you like.  If you've got a house teleport for it, that's easiest.  Bring enough runes to telegrab, then use the telegrab spell on the pickled brain.  It's on one of the tables.  All it requires is 33 magic.  If you've made it this far, I suspect you won't have any trouble with the magic requirement.

While you're at the Hair of the Dog, now's a good time to run around to the trap door behind it.  While it's described as 'exploring' the tunnel, in reality, all we had to do was step through the secret door in the cellar wall.  If you've already leveled Zachary Bragg in Temple Trekking to 99 (you lucky dog!) then it's easiest to enter the tunnel from the backside.  Or toggle the shortcut off.  Otherwise it skips you past the part you'll need.

This next part is pretty cool.  Not because it's harder, easier, or interesting.  But because it's associated with the rewards from the medium Morytania tasks.  The task involves making cannonballs while in Port Phasmatys.  All you need is a steel bar and the ammo mould.  The cool part is that once you've complete the medium tasks, forever after you'll do cannonballs in Port Phasmatys twice as fast as normal.  Since the bank is just across the street from the furnace, that's a pretty cool deal.  At least, if you're a do-it-yourselfer, or if you make cannonballs for sale.
The Higher, the Badder is a fun task.  We just grabbed our slayer helm, used the slayer ring to get the the Slayer Tower, and climbed the shortcut in the severed hand room.  On the following floor, we just killed anything that caught our fancy.  I went after the Infernal Mages.  Not sure, but I think I saw Monique killing a Bloodveld.  Either way, quick, easy, done.
From the Slayer Tower, we sprinted south to the farming patch.  Thanks again to Monique's specialty being farming, we had already planted Bittercap Mushrooms in advance.  A quick stopover to pick them, and it was time to move on.  If you haven't pre-planted for them, expect about a 4-hour wait for them to mature.  You can always move ahead to other tasks, and come back later.
Polterheist was one of those 'complicated' ones.  Neither of us had been to the haunted mine in such a long time, we had forgotten how to get there.  Turns out, you need a Crystal-mine key, but that's okay, ours was still on the key ring from the "One Small Favor" quest.  I had also forgotten the tools in the mine will attack you.  I tried to grab a pick-axe to hit the rock with, and it started hitting me.  No real threat, and it was relatively easy to find the mithril and mine some.
For our final Medium Morytania task, we had to check out Razmire's supplies in the Mort'ton Builder's Merchants shop.  If you've already fed him a Serum 208, he's permanently cured and this is no problem.  Otherwise, he'll need either a Serum 207 or 208 to be able to interact with you.  Later, one of the rewards is from Razmire.  Come back once you've done all the medium tasks, and he'll give free lumber away.  It's limited, but figure whatever you choose, you'll get between 6k and 10k worth of planks daily.  Personally, it's a long ways out of my way for such a small reward.  But it's there.  If I'm running through, I'll sure stop and grab some.
Speaking of rewards, it's time to upgrade the Morytania Legs.  Speak to Robin in Port Phasmatys and you'll get some goodies.  Beginning with the Morytania Legs 2.  In addition to the Legs 1 abilities, here's the newest:
Wearing the legs, you can:
Smith cannonballs at double-speed in Port Phasmatys.
Teleport to the Ectofuntus slimepit 5 times daily.  Very cool if you're training prayer.
Any time (wearing the legs or not):
Get noted planks daily from Razmire.
Have your West-Canifis mushroom patch protected from disease.
Get 13 bonemeal and slime daily from Robin, in exchange for 13 bones. (Another great option for Prayer training.)
And finally, the haunted beings in the Abandoned mine won't bother to attack you any more.  Not that impressive.  I haven't been in that mine in years.  But still, you never know!
Oh, one last bit... if you finished this task before April 11, 2012, you get an early bird reward - a 15k exp lamp!

Runescape: Graphic Update to Amour and Gnomes

It looks much better while you're spinning around and changing angles
Yesterday marked the graphic update to much of Runescapes armour, plus the gnomes.  This is the first of the promised changes for March.  The others comprise new teleports to major towns, a Bonus Experience Weekend, and a Morytania Task Set.  (Other stuff too, but these are the ones I'm looking forward to!)

As far as the graphic update goes, it's a bit of a mixed bag.  Overall, I do like the changes.  Some, though, could have been a bit better.  I speak particularly to Rune Armour, which now looks a little... baggy.

In the main, the changes were for the better.  The Dragonfire Shield is especially excellent, making use of lighting effects to "glow" the dragon-mouth on the face.

The Bandos set, and the Armadyll set, are both huge improvements.  Now when I wear them, it doesn't look like a dress.  They look more appropriate to 'manly' men's wear   :^)

The Black Dragonhide looks excellent.  Monique thinks that since it looks so much more complex, we ought to get more crafting exp for making it now.  Not sure that follows, but heck, she'd a lot higher than me in Crafting, I'm all for anything that makes the game more fun!

Not too impressed with the Varrock Armour.  It's not bad, but I think I liked the original design better.  The Full Slayer Helm is fabulous - If you've ever seen the old Anime series, "The Guyver", the new Slayer Helm reminds me of the Guyver.  Especially with that blue gem glowing in the middle of the forehead.

When you stop to think about all the work involved, the graphic update becomes very impressive.  It's not like they simply drew a new design and slapped it on.  Many of the new designs involve re-worked 3-d shapes, and have to be modeled to move through each and every frame a player is likely to be in.  That's a lot of hard labor, and mistakes are all too easy to make.  Remember the old 'flesh-colored post' on the flying carpet?  It extended well below the carpet, and looked extremely bad.  If I remember right, we used to sit down, until then.  I guess they couldn't figure out a fix, so changed the character to stand instead of sit.  Or maybe the timing was just coincidental.

I'm completely blown away by the Gnome updates, though.  The characters finally look believable, now that they no longer have the super-wide frog mouths.  And the view from on top of the Grand Tree is just amazing.  Really worth the trip.  The subtle changes, the rich colors, and complex lighting are visible all the way from the top to the ground.  Nice place to lay out a blanket and have a picnic.

Overall, the upgrade was a positive step by Jagex.  Keeping Runescape attractive is important, and as computers become more and more capable, the improvements need to keep pace.  This latest effort might not be perfect, but represents the commitment Jagex has to keeping Runescape current.

For me, the one single best improvement was the Dragonfire Shield.  My least favorite?  I'm going to cheat, and go a week or two further back... I hated when they changed Baby Jad!

What was your favorite change?  How about the one you hated the most?

Runescape: They Ruined Baby TzRek-Jad!

I logged in today, took one look at my favorite pet, and all I could say was "Oh, No!"

Now that the TzHaar update has come and gone, I figured Baby Jad wasn't going to get an update.  And honestly, while I had been hoping for something cool, it really didn't bother me when they left him alone.
New Baby Jad

But today, I logged in while sitting down to lunch, and my heart just sank.  Now he's got this stupid lavender armor, and lost a lot of the really cool crackled lava look.  His skin is smoother, and a lighter red.

I want to stand under the moon and howl "Ruined!!"...

Monique was teasing me, and said I should get rid of him.  With great dignity, I told her you don't kick a loved one out just because they've lost their looks.
Old Baby Jad

So, yeah, he's still Baby Jad.  He's still mine.  I'm still proud of him.  Took a lot of work and time to get.  But I wish they hadn't done it.

Given Jagex's history, I'm sure they won't roll him back.  All I can hope is they'll take another crack at it, and do a better job.  Small hope, but it's what I've got.  I don't usually complain about Runescape.  Most of the time I really enjoy it.  Just needed a short rant.

Thanks.  I'm better now.  Baby Jad and me are gonna go play.

Runescape: Bot Nuking Day and the Aftermath

Note:  No pretty pictures this time.  Just me talking.  If you're easily bored, this will certainly trigger an attack of boredom:

Well, I wasn't going to write specifically about this... but it's much bigger than I realized it was going to be.  Yesterday, 10-25-2011, was Runescape's Bot Nuking Day.  I had high hopes, but no actual frame of reference.  The scale of this event is astounding.
In advance, I was pretty pleased at the prospect of removing bots.  I hate botting in Runescape.  Aside from the practical effects on the economy, and availability of resources, I just hated the cheating in general.  Real players have worked hard for every skill they have, every reward they've earned, every rare drop they've fought for.  It seriously cheapens the value of our hard work to have someone leveling, harvesting, getting rich, all without actually playing.

So yes, I'm thrilled.  And you know what?  I'm kind of vindictive about it.  This is odd for me... I'm normally too nice for my own good.  After 50 years of being nice, it's a hard habit to break.  But in this case, I'm making an exception.
Glad.  Glad, glad, glad... happy happy glad glad.

And another thing?  Did you know some of these bots are sold?  For real money!!  Can you imagine?  I don't know what a typical cost would be, but I heard of one that costs $350...  Dang.  Can you even imagine paying that kind of money for playing Runescape?  And not even acutally playing.
Let me put this into my own twisted perspective:  Someone signs up for Runescape, as a member.  So they're paying for the privilege of playing, right?  Then they turn around and shell out big bucks for a bot to play for them.  Are they even having fun?  What's the point in PAYING to play a game, then PAYING someone else to play it for them?  Maybe you could PAY someone to eat supper for you?  Or to get a good night's sleep for you?

Okay, I do get the point that most of them don't play for fun, rather they farm resources for gold, which they sell real-world.  Shady.  Images of mafia underworld, and overseas child labor factories.  Lets keep organized crime and child abuse OUT of our game.

From another viewpoint, consider the script-writers who make their money selling illegal scripts.  Hmmm, do you think they'll be issuing any refunds?  They certainly aren't working from a foundation of honesty and integrity.  I suspect any fool who paid them money is not going to see that money back now that the bots are broken.

That's a good penalty.  Lesson learned, maybe.  For some, anyway.  I'm guessing the majority won't see the error of their ways.  They'll just keep looking for ways to cheat.  I sure hope this event will drive the bot-writers out of business.  I also hope to see Runescape pursue legal action as they've threatened to do.

My one concern is that Jagex may lose a lot of income with this bold move.  I have a ton of respect for them, and seriously hope they don't suffer financially because of it.

From reaction on the forums, it seems many other players share my exuberance.  And of course, many don't.  The forums are certainly lively right now.  Especially with buzz about the legal notice Jagex emailed many suspected botters.  It was pretty much a last chance, straighten up and we'll grant amnesty, keep botting and we'll sue you.  I'm no lawyer, and the forums are chock-full of players who think they are.  So I won't be pontificating about the legals aspects of this letter, and the rights of the poor, abused and misunderstood botters.  All I'm going to mention is actual Right and Wrong, which many players (probably children, for the majority) don't seem to comprehend.

We all have our stories to tell.  I solo Dungeoneer a lot, so yesterday didn't get to see the result of the bot-nuke.  But today I logged in during breakfast.  I like to fish shark while I eat.  It's easy, doesn't require full attention, and I can manage breakfast while playing.  Using Barbarian techniques to fish, makes it bare-handed, so all I carry is a skills necklace to teleport to the fishing guild, and a kinship ring to get back to Dungeoneering.
Usually the docks are elbow to elbow, and players stacked on the shark harpoon spots.  This morning?  Ghost town.  Nobody.  Just me and Man(level 2) on the docks, the whole morning.  Wow.
Similar story for Monique.  She went to the Kalphite lair to collect some potato cactus... and NO bots, nobody else, at all.  She could collect at her leisure, without competing for a limited resource.  It's made the game SO much nicer.  She just read a post by someone else who went into the essence mines and there was nobody there.  Just the empty sound of echoing footsteps...

I expect a financial impact, as well.  Prices of just about everything will probably rise sharply, then taper off to it's natural level.  Yes, it'll make buying things more expensive.  But it will also make the results of our hard work more valuable.  If I fish a few thousand shark and sell them, hopefully I can actually sell them for enough to be worth my time.

Let's not forget Jagex kicking off a whole multi-day celebration of player rewards and events.  In recognition of the immensity of the event, for the next several days there are extras and bonuses.  Yesterday was triple Slayer experience.  Got my 99 while earning Baby Jad, but Monique took as much advantage of it as she could.  Sometimes real life gets in the way of fun, but she made a good effort.
Today, if I remember right, is Castle Wars bonus.  Tomorrow, Thursday, is double penguin points.  Even better, it's a new reset, so if you already did them for the week, you get to do the penguins again!  Not to mention, several other distractions and diversions will give boosts.  Evil Trees, Mining, Familiarization.
Finally, Friday will be triple experience for Soul Wars.  I've wanted a second Baby Jad for my house menagerie.  This would be a great time to earn some Soul Wars Zeal.

All told, there's quite a carnival going on this week, all because of the bot-nuking initiative.  Yay Runescape.  Good job.

In the near future, will bots make a comeback?  I hope not.  At least, not to the extreme they had been.  And what will the near-and-long term effect on the game be?

Who knows.  Like I said, the practical aspects are nice, but I'm mainly excited at the prospect of not living in a bot-filled Runescape.  At least for now, any competition will be from real players.  Any crowding will be actual people.  Cheaters won't prosper.  I hope they choke on it.

Happy happy joy joy.  Nyah Nyah.

Runescape: TzRek Jad (or "How to Raise Your Own Baby Jad")

A Boy and his Jad
Okay, I'm going to have a 'me' moment today.  I've been working and obsessing like a mad fool to get TzRek-Jad, the baby version of TzTok-Jad.  Since the day they announced it, I've been working to get Baby Jad.  My first blog post about him was August the 3rd, he was released August 23rd, and today is September 17th.  So roughly a month and a half.

The requirements are steep.  99 Summoning.  99 Slayer.  A Fire Cape.  100 Zeal from Soul Wars.
You buy him as a reward from the Soul Wars minigame.  When you pay up, it takes your Firecape, and tells you Baby Jad ate the Fire Cape!
Lucky for me, the requirements weren't too far away.  Already had 99 Summoning and a Fire Cape.  My Slayer skill was 93.  Doing Nomad's Requiem gave me a bonus of 70 Zeal, which I never used.  So, 7 Slayer levels, 30 Zeal, and it's a done deal.  Sounded easy.  Until you start grinding away for a 99.  At least Slayer is a fun skill.  I did everything I could to speed it up.  Cannon, Steel Titan, potions…  and it still took a long time.

Ancient Effigies really helped.  I had no idea how many get dropped when you power slay.  They're rare drops, but if all you're doing is killing things as fast as possible, and not stopping to pick things up (except effigies, dark bows, whips, and so on) then they show up reasonably often.  To be specific, on a good trip, I'd get 2 effigies.  One single day I had 3 assignments that netted 2 effigies each trip!  That was six right there!  A normal day would usually give me 2 or 3 effigies at a rate of one every other task or so.
By the time it was finished, those effigies added up to over 800k of exp.  I had planned on selling my Slayer Points too, but never bothered.  Even after getting 99 Slayer, I cashed in 2 more effigies, and have 4 left in the bank.

Jad and I have a history, which I've already detailed previously.  For now, lets just say that I used to be able to beat him using Ancient Curses / Deflects.  Then Jagex changed the rules, and that doesn't work any more.  I'm still trying to learn how to beat him again.  So during my Slayer training, when Kuradal offered a Tzhaar task, and an upgrade to Jad, I always took it.  Since it was a chance to practice for Jad, and still make some exp, it was win-win, even if I got killed.

Still working on Jad.  Might actually focus on it, now that I've finished this goal.  But with all of the history, I felt a strong connection when Runescape released Baby Jad.  Besides, I've already got a houseful of Baby Dragons, which used to be the coolest pet in Runescape until TzRek-Jad.  I love the cool pets.  I got so carried away with the baby dragons, that I collected 1 green, 1 red, 2 blue, and 5 Blacks, all in the menagerie.  I'd love to have at least one Jad in the house menagerie, maybe more.  I've got a spare Fire Cape, but getting all that Zeal is very off-putting.
To the side is a quick shot of my menagerie.  The pets tend to wander around and spread out very quickly, so it's hard to get a good shot of all of them.
Of course, a side benefit is the 99 Slayer.  I wasn't even planning to go for that yet, but it worked out well.  One of the first things I did after getting Baby Jad was to get the Slayer Cape.  It's a highly respected cape, and looks pretty cool.  The cape emote is pretty lame though.  Big bad Slayer gets attacked by this spindly little 3-legged monster, throws monster to ground, stomps monster flat.  I feel kind of bad for the monster.  It may not be practical, but for an impressive Slayer emote, the monster should be bigger than the player character.

I love the fact the Baby Jad is maintenance free.  No feeding, and he never runs away.  That's very nice.  I'm immensely curious whether he stays on death or not.  But not enough to get killed just to see.  You do it.  Not me.  He was too hard to get, for taking chances like that.  I'm also pleased that TzRek-Jad can go into your Player Owned House Menagerie.  He fit right in with my dragons.  Since I've only got 1 baby red dragon,  his Jad's red color provides a nice counter-balance to the baby black dragons.  But now I'm in a quandary.  I really hated doing Soul Wars.  Was very lucky to already have most of the Zeal points from a quest.  But if I want to put him in my menagerie, I'm going to have to play Soul Wars again.  A lot.  I've still got 2 more Fire Capes.  If I keep one, and cash in the other, I can have a Jad in the house, and one to follow me around Runescape.  But that's for the far future.  For now, I'm on Soul Wars retirement.
Sit boy... Good boy!
I'm thrilled to finally have him.  I wonder how many are out there?  I've only ever seen one before mine.  And yes, I know he's functionally useless.  No help fighting or carrying.  Doesn't boost any skills.  But he's just plain cool.  Plus, as Monique pointed out, having Jad is like bragging rights.  If he's following me, people automatically know I've got those 2 99's and have beaten Big Jad in the fight cave.  If I wear any other skillcape at the same time, that's bragging even more.  If I do the Taskmaster Emote at the same time, that's just too much showing off … hmmm, maybe I could do it just a couple of times?

Okay, so I'm proud of him.  But even more, I'm happy to have him, because I've wanted, and worked hard, to own my very own TzRek-Jad.  Not sure what I'll work on next.  But I know it's going to be fun!

Runescape: Dungeoneering, Baby TzRek Jad, Slayer... so much to do, so little time!

In spite of the fact that Monique and I are still Dungeoneering extensively, I've not seen any Night Spiders since the beginning of the month.  That makes 7 Night Spiders to get my Shadow Silk Hood, then 2 more Night Spiders in the next couple of days, now I've seen none for nearly 2 weeks.  Wow.  I'm extremely glad I got my hood so early in the hunt.
Since then, I've managed to get level 83 Dungeoneering, which makes 42 my deepest dungeon available.  Monique's gotten to floor 38, but for her, it's not about the Dungeoneering, it's about the tokens.  By now, she's gotten every reward she desires except for the crafting one.  She's already gotten Bonecrusher, and the Scroll of Life.  Once she gets that last reward, I think I'll have lost my Dungeoneering partner.  Oh well, I ran solo before she got interested, and I'll just go back to solo when she's done.  In the meantime, she still needs about 23,000 tokens, which means I don't have to worry about it for a while.

Besides, with Jagex releasing baby TzRek Jad sometime this month, I've got plenty of other things to work on.  His requirements are 99 Summoning, 99 Slayer, and 100 Zeal from Soul Wars.  I've got the summoning, which is the hardest/most expensive skill to max (in my opinion, anyway).  My Slayer is 93, but I like training Slayer, so it'll be fun to focus on getting that as my next 99.  It's the Soul Wars I'm really dreading.  Don't like team sports...  But I'll do it for baby Jad.  TzTok Jad was such a pain to beat, that in a strange way, I kind of like him.  It's going to be awesome to sport a baby TzRek Jad.

While Monique is still interested in Dungeoneering, I haven't put much effort into Slaying.  Maybe three tasks in the last several days.  I always go to Kuradel, and she gave me nearly 200 Nechryaels, then 186 Spiritual Mages, and now 150 Blue Dragons.  Blue Dragons!  Heck, yes, they're like a trip to Disney.  Fun, fast, easy, and reasonably private if you use Kuradel's Slayer Dungeon.  I'm about halfway through them, and have gotten 2 Dragon Eggs so far.  Nice, though I've got plenty in my player owned house.
Getting assigned Blue Dragons is like a break.  When that's over, it'll be back to the usual assignments (I assume).

The nice thing about Slayer, is you can go slow, medium, or fast, depending on your goals.  Slow, allows for bring a Pack Yak, and banking the drops for profit.  Medium, allows for banking the really exceptional drops, but mostly just killing.  And fast, is when I use all the boosts I can (Super Sets, Turmoil, etc.)
I don't include overloads because I can't do the max, and it seems to me like the one I can do might be more effort than it's worth for an ongoing task.  I could see the value in getting past one specific boss monster, but not for a continuous ongoing goal.

But for now, we're Dungeoneering.  Lots of variety and fun.  We're not fast, and we don't rack up amazing experience.  We just play.  Monique by nature has gravitated toward being our keyer.  She loves to explore, and blaze new trails.  She manages the doors and makes sure we clear the floor before going after the bosses.  I combine skilling and fighting.  Making our armor, and our summoning beasts.  And fighting.  I enjoy fighting the monsters.  Even when we're trying to rush, I keep getting sidetracked fighting.  I guess it's not really a big deal.  We both enjoy it for one reason or another.

So, once Monique has reached her Dungeoneering tokens goal, I'm going to go guns blazing on Slayer and blast through it as fast as possible.  Goodbye, bank account.  But it'll be worth it...
Hello, baby TzRek Jad!
